Naia Resort & Residences
The Villas at Cocoplum is one of 3 key components of the Naia Resort and Residences community formerly known as Cocoplum. “Naia” is a masterplan development consisting of 110 home sites, a boutique 5-star resort (Naia Resort & Spa) and the Villas at Cocoplum condominiums. We are a low density development with over 50% of the 224 acres set aside as green space. Iguanas, parrots, Pelicans, manatees and the occasional dolphin or toucan call this place home. The Villas at Cocoplum
The Villas at Cocoplum is a professionally-planned condominium resort designed by an award winning architectural team out of Atlanta Georgia (Gary Coursey & Associates). The parcel consists of 11.4 acres and 500 feet of beautiful Caribbean beach. A Caribbean pier (one of only 2 in the entire development), beachfront infinity-edged pool, outdoor grille area and volleyball net already exist and are being managed by the property management team.
Twenty two luxury condos have been built and have been successfully managed for several years. The natural vegetation, pristine Caribbean waters, views of Victoria's Peak, a healthy coral reef right off the beach, nearby False Caye (island with excellent snorkeling), abundance of tranquility and our amazing condo owners and staff create a true oasis.
One component that truly sets this condominium resort aside from the rest is that we are part of the 224-acre Naia Resort & Residences community. And we are the ONLY condominium project allowed here. What is also very unique is that our entrance is not on the main road like the rest of the condo projects here. One has to enter through a gated entrance and then follow a windy tree-lined road to enter the complex. This creates a level of privacy, tranquility and exclusiveness that is found nowhere else on the Placencia peninsula. The Villas at Cocoplum is also very fortunate in that to one side is the Naia Resort and Spa and on the other side is the award-winning Sirenian Bay Resort. Participation in the rental program is fully optional and currently half the owners rent out and half do not. We will be expanding our rental management team and staff as more condominiums come on line. We will also be adding a main resort building with reception, a restaurant, poolside bar, business center, concierge service and fitness center. A much large second pool will also be designed around the main resort building. We will eventually be operating a full-service Caribbean beach front resort of the highest caliber. Electric vehicle (EV) charging stations will also be added to energize our electric vehicles that will shuttle our owners and guests around the devolvement, to the restaurants and into the jungle for excursions.

About the Developer
The Developer’s first visit to Placencia in 1992 was via a 12-hour bus ride from Belize city along the pothole infested coastal road which entailed a stop at every town, village and street corner along the way. Upon arriving around midnight in the darkness of night the developer stepped off the bus and felt that same feeling of peace, tranquility and transformation that most people experience upon arrival. He fell in love with Placencia and constantly visited and invested year after year. Originally a real estate developer and investor from Denver, Colorado with an MBA from DU and an international economics degree from UCLA, he purchased the property and designed the Villas at Cocoplum from scratch.
The developer has become one of the most experienced real estate experts in the region. He is frequently invited to speak at international real estate conventions about investing in Belize and has been featured on many HGTV real estate shows (Island Hunters, Beachfront Bargain, Caribbean Life, etc.).
But life was not all business and support for the community was always a priority. The developer helped to start the Volunteer Fire Department with the donation of the first fire pump when a tragic fire destroyed a popular local business. He also joined the Police department on a special Emergency Response Team. When the school funding was depleted for the Physical Education Coach he immediately jumped in and covered the entire salary for years. The charter of the local private school was also partially his undertaking as was the recent construction and funding of the Placencia Sign at the end of the sidewalk.
The Villas at Cocoplum is the passion and joy of the developer and the place he calls home (together with Denver, Colorado). “Mr. B”, as locals call him, enjoys teaching his kids to explore the world with an entrepreneurial eye, and epic outdoor adventure and a well-earned Margarita right here at The Villas at Cocoplum.
